Dr. Beth has lived through a personal holocaust. Her father died at fifty of a heart attack when she was nine years old. Because of her family’s conspiracy of silence, she was left on her own to cope. It wasn’t until her sister died suddenly twenty-four years later that Dr. Beth was forced – and gifted – to relive and finally resolve her father’s death as though it had happened yesterday. Then, within two years, two more of her closest family members were dead. Why Remarriages Fail
Most people know the current divorce rate for first marriages is a bit shy of 50%. So logic would say if people have already experienced a divorce, they should be able to learn from their mistakes and go on to create a better, stronger marriage the next time. Yet, between 60 and 64% of second marriages and between 70 – 73% of third marriages end in divorce. Dr. Beth will discuss the unique challenges inherent in remarriage, especially those with children and ex-spouses in the picture. She will offer some tips to prevent remarriages from becoming another casualty.
